Booking
How can I book Suzie Q?
- To book Suzie Q, simply visit our booking page and request a quote. Provided the date you are interested in is free, you will receive a formal quote in your inbox within 24hours. If you do not receive a quote within this time frame, be sure to check your junk mail.
How much do Suzie Q charge?
- Every event we play is different therefore the price is determined by several different factors, from the type of event to the event location. We are a self-managed band which allows us to offer a very competitive package.
Does the band require a deposit?
- To secure a booking, Suzie Q requires a deposit of €250. This is the case for both private and corporate events.
Do Suzie Q travel nationwide?
- Suzie Q cover all areas within the Republic of Ireland.
Before we book, can we see Suzie Q perform at a wedding?
- Unfortunately no, as a wedding is a private event it would be unfair of us to invite a stranger to such a personal occasion. Suzie Q runs a series of showcases throughout the year in the Munster area. We also feature promotional videos on the media section of our website.
Do you have some testimonials from previous clients?
- Yes, to view these in full visit our weddingsonline profile or the reviews section of our Facebook page.
Are you insured to play in all venues?
- Suzie Q are fully covered by a Public Liability Insurance Policy to perform in any venue. Click here to view our policy.
Are there any additional and/or hidden charges?
- A small travel fee applies to all areas outside of Munster. This will be highlighted in your formal quote. The only other extra charge that may apply is if the client opts for the early set-up service on the day of the event.
Performance
How long does Suzie Q play for?
- A standard engagement is approx. 2-2.5 hours. We will never impose a finish time that penalises the client for delays with the meal, speeches or photographer etc.
How long does it take Suzie Q to set up?
- In most venues, we are set up and ready to play in about 45 minutes. Our aim is to be ready and waiting for the client and not the other way around.
Is it always the same members?
- On the whole, yes. In the event of a serious illness, accident or bereavement occurring, a substitute musician (usually an ex-member of Suzie Q) will be available to step in on short notice. Thankfully this has not happened to date.
Can Suzie Q play all types of music?
- Suzie Q boasts an unbelievable repertoire of songs spanning across genres as well as eras. To view a sample of what Suzie Q has to offer, visit the Set List Section of our website.
Will the band perform at a volume that is comfortable for me and my guests?
- Suzie Q is one of the few bands that feature an on-site sound engineer (he’s the guy out front with the I Pad). This allows them to adjust the volume before and throughout our set to suit the tone of the room. We are always amenable to altering the volume at your request.
Can I decide what type of music will be played during my event?
- With years of experience performing in private and corporate environments, Suzie Q is extremely capable of ‘reading the audience’ and choosing the music they are confident will connect with both you and your guests. Please feel free to go through our setlist and highlight any areas you would like Suzie Q to play or omit.
What do you wear on stage?
- Suzie Q wears formal attire for both corporate and private events.
Will the band learn a special song/first dance?
- Suzie Q are more than happy to learn a couples first dance provided we are given the song 6 weeks prior to the date of your big day. We would always encourage the couple to play the original recording through the P.A. system as it is not always possible to replicate the original recording in a live environment.
Can the band play in a venue of any size?
- We frequently perform in all types of venues; from smaller country houses to large marquees, castles and purpose-built function rooms.
Additional Services
Do you provide a DJ service?
- Suzie Q does not provide a DJ service but is more than happy to recommend some of the South East’s most sought-after DJs.
Do you provide drinks/pre meal reception music?
- Yes we do. ‘Three Piece Suite’ are a three piece acoustic offering comprised of members of Suzie Q. Having gained a great reputation in their own right, this melodic group use acoustic guitars, light percussion, and floating vocals to provide the perfect accompaniment to any occasion. Can you set up before the meal?
- Certainly, if an early setup is required, three members of the band can arrive 1 hour before your guest’s arrival to set up the main back-line (P.A system, drumkit and amps). Please note, there will be an additional cost and a short soundcheck will still be needed before the performance. If you would like to avail of this service we would recommend notifying your event planner at the early stages of booking.
Can I avail of the early set service closer to the date of my event?
- Unfortunately no, as we can not always guarantee availability. This service must be arranged at the early stages of booking.
